The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has appointed Joshua Teece, Senior Consultant at Carmichael Fisher, to its Food, Drink & Agriculture board. Founded in 1911, the CIM is the leading membership association for the UK marketing industry and the world largest professional marketing body with over 30,000 members across 36 countries. He assumes his role with immediate effect.

Joshua will assume his position on a board that is made up of a wealth of marketing, public relations and creative talent representing the FMCG and Food & Beverage sector. He will join an interest group that currently boasts over 800 members, making it one of the largest within the CIM’s global remit.

Commenting on his appointment, Joshua said: “For the last 10 years, I have operated within this space, and the pace of change it has experienced is like no other. This has prompted organisations to reimagine both the way they position themselves within each market they serve, but also how they raise their profile as an employer of choice.

“Indeed, the Food & Agribusiness division within Carmichael Fisher is one of the fastest-growing within the business, and for good reason. From changing consumer habits and greater awareness of both human and animal welfare, to an ageing population and climate change, the sector is constantly evolving to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

“This presents a number of opportunities (and threats) that leadership teams need to address, and this is where we come into play – advising sector leaders on how best to attract and retain the key executive talent they need to meet these challenges head on.”

Having spent more than a decade securing key leadership appointments for a growing portfolio of clients, Joshua has developed an in-depth knowledge of the food and agribusiness industry across multiple territories. This, he asserts, is what has enabled him to secure this appointment.

“The CIM has a long, illustrious history and I am honoured to be given the opportunity to play a central role within the Food, Drink & Agriculture board.

“I believe that my experience in advising some of the leading players across the globe has provided me with a breadth of knowledge and technical expertise that can add real value to the work that the CIM does.

“This has not only benefitted the clients we support at Carmichael Fisher and helped the business to stay at the forefront of market developments, it will hopefully benefit the CIMs interest group members, too.

“Likewise, this is very much an opportunity for me to learn from the experiences of my fellow board members and see how their experiences and insights can be translated into new ideas for our business and the clients that we serve – a true sharing of best practice.”
